The area

THE AREA

 Torrenueva is within walking distance to La Cala, Calahonda and Riviera del Sol. Only a short drive away is Cabopino, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Benalmadena, Torremolinos and Fuengirola.  These places are also accessible by public transport.  The bus passes at the bottom of the road. Also within driving distance of Nerja, Mijas, Cordoba, Estepona, Gibraltar, Seville, Granada, Malaga, Ronda and Jerez. These places, also a day trip to Tangiers may be organised from the many booking agents when in Spain. Nearest booking agent for all trips is Ashford Property Services in Torrenueva ( next door to Steve's Bar ) - 8 minute walk from apartment.

  CALAHONDA

  Calahonda (5 mins drive and within walking distance of the apartment) is located 10 minutes away from the coastal town of Marbella. There are three commercial centres which house most of the development's 45 restaurants, cafeterias and pubs as well as seven banks, several supermarkets and a wide variety of other shops. A good choice of restaurants & bars together with mini-supermarkets are all located near the El Zoco Complex, along with larger supermarkets and a selection of small shops nearby.

 Cabopino: (5 mins drive)  Cabopino and Cabopino beach are situated on the coast, halfway between Fuengirola and Marbella. Miles of beautiful sandy beaches with water sports, fishing and boat trips. There is also a pleasant harbour and renowned restaurants.

LA CALA

 La Cala Mijas (3 - 5 mins drive and within walking distance from apartment) is located between Torrenueva and Fuengirola and was originally a tiny fishing village.  The beaches are sandy, long and well cared for. The restaurants of La Cala range from the most simple to the most expensive, they include Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai, French, plus a wide choice of Spanish restaurants.

 La Cala has great market days ('el barratillo') every Wendesday and Saturday from around 09:00 - 14:30. The stalls offer everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to local crafts, clothes, ceramics and pottery, flowers and plants and lots more.  There are an abundance of good quality sports and recreation facilities both in and around La Cala de Mijas. Tennis is available at the "Club del Sol" and there is the Lawn bowls centre at Miraflores. There are gymnasiums, dive centres and virtually every outdoor activity within minutes of the village.  Also golf courses at La Cala and Mijas Golf, Santana Golf and El Chaparral. 

MARBELLA

Marbella: (10 mins drive)
One of the most delightful promenades on the Costa Del Sol, with its many restaurants and bars overlooking the beach front. A visit to the Orange Square will bring you to a host of street restaurants in the old part of Marbella.

PUERTO BANUS

Puerto Banus: (20mins drive)
With it’s mega rich yachts, world famous fashion shops, Casino, shopping centre, top beaches and spectacular views, makes this place special. The nightlife is buzzing with numerous Bars & Restaurants overlooking the marina.

FUENGIROLA

Fuengirola: (10mins drive) 
A busy resort where the promenade spans the entire coast. The town comes alive at night with its many bars & clubs's. Many water sports attractions are also available here.

TORREMOLINOS

Torremolinos: (30mins drive)

The bars & restaurants makes it a ideal location for a great nightlife. The gigantic Aqua Park is also a star attraction here.

BENALMADENA

Benalmadena: (30mins drive)
A lively resort with its beautiful sandy beaches & a spectacular promenade. Visit the Marina Plaza, often described as Covent Garden on water. Other attractions include the Tivoli World theme park.

MIJAS

Mijas: (20mins drive)
One of the prettiest villages in Spain, this traditional village has breath taking views. Tour this village on the famous Donkey taxis.

  GIBRALTAR    

Gibraltar: (90 mins drive)
Has many attractions,St Michales Cave,Cable cars,Wild Dolphins & Barbary apes. A passport is required when visiting Gibraltar.

RONDA

Ronda: (60 mins drive)
Ronda is truly a spectacular village, famous throughout Spain for the plunging river gorge which divides this enchanting village. Ronda also has the oldest & most beautiful bullring in the whole of Spain.
